Banfi Rosa Regale Sparkling Rosé for Mother’s Day

As a chef and sommelier, I show love through food and Mother’s Day is no exception! To celebrate the amazing moms in my life, I am hosting a brunch to bring all of us together over good food and cool drinks. If you are doing the same, you are likely in the market for a wine to match the occasion and the menu. I’ve got just that for you - Banfi Rosa Regale Sparkling Rosé. 

Effortlessly elegant, this wine bubbles into the glass in the most charming shade of pink. It blossoms with aromas of freshly cut flowers and juicy citrus. The flavor is pleasantly sweet, reminiscent of the ripest of summer melons drizzled in honey. In fact, I love to pop a bottle of this rosé in the dead of winter, when I am really missing the sweetness of summer produce. Thanks to its lower alcohol content, this wine makes for excellent day drinking. It can also serve as a fantastic base for celebratory cocktails. My recommendation is the Botanical Bliss garnished with fresh rose petals, but this wine plays well in a spritz too. No matter how you serve it, this wine is sure to make any mom smile. 

Like any sparkler, this wine should be served chilled, which makes for a great opportunity to get creative with your presentation. Consider filling your ice buckets with frozen flower spheres. I make these by placing a flower bud in a small water balloon, filling it with water, freezing until firm and removing the plastic balloon to reveal a beautiful ice spheres with a flower suspended inside.

Thanks to this wine’s vibrant acidity, it is incredibly food friendly. It works well with both sweet and savory flavors, making it an ideal choice for a brunch menu that combines both. Here’s a look at my menu:
